An Artist's Perspective

I am Colton Allen and I am an aspiring theme park creative. Currently, I am attending California State University Fullerton to get my Bachelor of Fine Arts for sculpture. I chose this major to have creative freedom to produce works that not only am I proud of, but to entertain and transport others into a world that I have created. I have only been creating artworks for a few years, letting me find each piece as a learning opportunity to develop my skills and reach closer to building my ambitious ideas. I want to be a theme park creative to make someone's day memorable, to create a place where guests can forget about their hardships and be entranced in an entirely unique world that feels alive. I want to create not only unforgettable scenery, but experiences that guests carry back home with them, wanting to come back and experience it again and again. I want others to leave feeling inspired and to make a positive impact in their life and those around them. I believe there is no better medium to achieve this than in theme parks, where imagination comes to reality and fantasy worlds come to life. I have discovered that this is my true calling and have been trying to study every single aspect to be able to create something truly unforgettable. Working as a Cast Member at the Disney Parks has given me insight into what goes into operations at a theme park and an up-close perspective at how creative visions are executed. I strive to always stay curious and do my best to learn as many different skills as I can and understand the importance of every single step that goes into theme park creation.
