Project Portfolio

This portfolio is a showcase of my skills, reflecting different techniques and ideas learned throughout my artistic career. Each piece features a unique idea and pushes ambition further, creating artworks that were thought to be unachievable. Curiosity is at the very center of each project, working to integrate new ideas and create new worlds.

Apothecary Corner

A diorama that depicts an original idea for a storefront found within a theme park land. The learning objectives of this project was about LED wiring, scaled building creation, 3D modeling and printing, and the integration of mirrors to create illusions.

Jurassic Dreams

A ceramic carousel lamp that includes different dinosaurs. This artwork focuses on using primary colors to create a whimsical feeling while spirals help to convey a spinning motion. The dinosaurs were created through 3D printing dinosaur shapes to cut out dinosaur silhouettes.

Encased Travels

A train travels over a trestle, forever encased in resin during the journey. This artwork focused on creating a miniature model on a smaller scale and working with epoxy resin. 3D printing was used to create the train and bridge while polymer clay made the rockwork.

I Am What I Create

Candies casted in pastries created by hand, being held by hands. Each hard candy was made with different flavors, encouraging viewers to try each one. The hands were 3D printed from a scan to act as a base. Candy bowls were created by hand to match each flavor profile.

Hallway.JPG

A Disappearing End

A hallway that is able to transition from being finite and infinite. This ambitious project utilizes forced perspective to create an illusion of a longer hallway. A sharkstooth scrim is used at the end to reveal an infinite mirror through the use of light. 3D design was used to figure out the measurements for the hallway.

Reliquary Renaissance

A ceramic sculpture inspired by a gothic reliquary. Prominent features of late gothic architecture are displayed in this piece, like full stained-glass windows and the lack of flying buttresses. Sense of scale was pushed to be the largest ceramic work created in this portfolio.

A Gateway to the Past

A public sculpture proposal was created for a nearby public park. This was my first step into miniature model making, exploring what it takes to create highly detailed environments.  3D modeling and printing was utilized to create the archway and bridge.

Metal Prints

3D printing was explored in this project to create aluminum casts. Plaster molds were created around the 3D print, allowing for the use of a lost wax casting process. For this specific piece, a chocolate chip cookie was 3D scanned and printed for the cast.

Board with Ball and Flippers

Pinball has many different aspects that make it a unique game, which this project looks at the core of it all. The 3D printed board is painted a matte gray with blue accents. A challenge of this work was motorizing the flippers and adding buttons on the sides to reflect a real pinball machine.

Sally Sculpture

A polymer clay model that is created from the character Sally from Tim Burton's A Nightmare Before Christmas. This project focused on creating fine details that come from reference images. Proportions were carefully inspected to accurately reflect the character.

Candy Snake Foil.JPG

Sweet Fangs

A snake was completely created in hard candy and wrapped in aluminum foil. The snake was presented wrapped, allowing viewers to shed the snake and reveal the candy inside, breaking it apart and eating the artwork.

Elusive Fortune

A miniature cave was created to reuse the box from a previous piece. At the end of the cave is a reflection of a gemstone, calling out to the viewer to reach for it. An ultrasonic sensor is utilized to detect an arm inside the box and will turn off the light on the gem, causing the gem to disappear.
